Whether we’re going for fresh seasonal florals, ribbons of buttercream, or something classic and clean, I aim to create one-of-a-kind works of art celebrating your love. With my background in visual art and design, I am practically obsessive about color theory, balance, and finding harmony within cake design. My all-time favorite cakes are playful, funky, floral, textured, and colorful! Our options are endless, sometimes incorporating fresh fruit accents, sometimes a heavy wink to your bouquet. Awkward cakes are perfectly imperfect, and as unique as you are! Plus, we are always told, our cakes are the most delicious, moist, “not-too-sweet” creations ever. Take pride in knowing: you’re feeding your guests the good stuff!

Jess is not only a wonderful baker, but helped us with every logistical step we needed. From helping us pick the perfect cake stand to support the beautiful cake she made, to coordinating with our planner to ensure that the cake arrived at the perfect time as to not melt (we had no refrigeration)... she was so helpful and responsive!

Not only is Awkward Pastry run by an artist and passionate baker, we’ve also got team of organized admin experts running things behind the scenes! With my “eye in the sky” Operations Manager Jess K handling everything behind the curtain, we are completely dialed-in with a combined knowledge of all things wedding related. Emails? Answered! Timelines? We’ll set up that delivery window well in advance. Floral coordination? On it! Crisis with the in-laws and need to eat your feelings? We are literally a dessert store… come over!
