FAQs

  • There's so many ways I can answer this question! Mostly I'm a goofball with an unfiltered personality. I'm a kooky queer leftie with a heart of gold.

And, my work is different than your average caker's! Everything I make is perfectly imperfect. No two cakes are alike, and I'm not going to copy your exact reference photo... My cakes look like they are handmade with love, and it's important that they come across as they are: lovingly crafted, a one-of-a-kind work of art.

  • I work out of a shared commercial kitchen space in Midtown Ventura: 2646 Palma Dr Suite 420, Ventura 93003.
I'm mostly custom-only, made-to-order treats. Sometimes I have an extra cake or weekly special... if you need something last minute, it's worth texting me to ask!

  • I have a full and comprehensive price sheet right here!

If you have a specific idea, send me an email with some key details and we'll give you a more detailed quote. I want to know your date, how many servings, your venue, and what your overall vibe is. Do you want a massive tiered cake to feed everyone, do you want a small cake to cut with supplemental sheets, or do you want something in between? Do you have colors in mind? Do any particular cakes of mine inspire you?

  • First, if you're local, you can order a to-go tasting whenever you want. The link is here!

Generally, I'll want to know all the details before giving you an accurate quote. Once you're ready to book, I'll send along a detailed invoice and contract. It's a 50% non-refundable deposit to hold the date, with the following 50% due 2 weeks before your event. For orders under $300, you'll pay the whole shebang up front.

  • I'll deliver anywhere if you're willing to pay the big bucks! Book me for your destination wedding, it'll be rad.

My most common range is as far north as Goleta/Santa Barbara and as far south as Malibu/Topanga. Ventura deliveries are $60, and prices go up from there. I frequently service Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Ojai, Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks and the Conejo Valley.

  • All my cakes are 4 layers of cake with 3 layers of filling (buttercream, curd, etc). They're about 5-6" tall, depending on what they're filled with, and the size listed of the cake (ex 6" cake) is the diameter.

  • Naw. I don't. I'm not passionate about it, it's not a part of my workflow... no shade, I'm just not down. However, if you want a few vegan servings to supplement your order, I may help middle-man it with one of my vegan baker friends. Ixchel from Bloom Bakery Ojai is great. So is Deb from Desserts 2 Die For.

  • I do make gluten-free items! Most anything on my menu can be made gluten-free for a small upcharge, so just ask. Please note that I am not a gluten-free facility. I take great precautions and sanitize between steps to prevent cross-contamination, but if you have a hypersensitive case of Celiac's and are concerned about particles of flour in the air, you may want to opt for cake from a specifically GF facility, like Lilac in Santa Barbara.

  • Hard no. I have nothing for you here. Sorry, I love you, but no. You should hit up Whole Foods or Bristol Farms, they usually have a sugar free or keto option!

In general, the feedback about my treats are that they are balanced and NOT overly sweet. But it's still cake and buttercream, and sugar is in everything.

  • Hard no on the fondant. I'll send you to someone that is super talented and groovy with that... I like Vivian from Chubby Girl Cupcakes!

If you'd like a simpler themed cake, just talk to me. Sometimes I'll work with my clients to find cute toppers on Amazon or Etsy, and we'll incorporate them together into the cake design.

  • While all the flowers and greenery I used are non-toxic and technically edible, I don't necessarily recommend eating them as they don't lend anything to the flavor profile. They're a garnish! It would kind of be like eating salad on your cake.

  • By default, all cakes are coated with white vanilla bean buttercream. If I have a chocolate-chocolate cake on order, I'll coat that one in chocolate buttercream. If you'd like it coated in something else, like a flavored or colored buttercream, make sure you send us an email and ask (there may be a slight upcharge!)
